Giving to the homeless of Sydney

Lillye hit the streets of Sydney and gave care packages to the homeless.

Over Christmas time, we advertised on our Facebook page we were selling artwork which is created by Virginia Lillye.

These unique pieces of art are drawn on drum heads that drummer of the band, Bennet Livingston, has used. Instead of throwing these used drum skins into landfill, Virginia puts her magic touch on them.

With the sale of Lillye drum skin art pieces at Christmas time, we put the money to good use by buying food, personal hygiene items, water and blankets for the homeless. This is our adventure of meeting and greeting homeless men and women on the streets of Sydney.

(Shot by Julian Crupi and edited by Virginia Lillye.)

Music used in this clip is ‘Grass is Greener’ taken from our debut full length album, ‘Evolve’.

Album Cover Artwork

Virginia talks about the artwork for the cover of the soon to be released album, Evolve!

After much heckling from the lads, I was given the task of doing the album cover artwork for Lillyes debut full length album, Evolve.

After much contemplation, I came to the conclusion that I should just let my hand draw and see where it would lead me. I wanted to incorporate a feeling of movement with an almost abstract way the world has evolved. Alas.. this was the outcome!

I don’t consider myself to be an ‘artist’ as such but I do enjoy creating with pen, pencil and paint. With every art piece that I do, once something has been placed on paper, canvas, even drum skins, I never erase or delete any component as I feel every stroke is meant to be there.

Excitement is building in the Lillye camp!! ??
